If you are studying civil engineering or a related major and are interested in gaining experience in public works engineering and implementation of engineering standards, the City of San Diego has openings for the following unpaid intern positions:
- Construction & Development Standards Intern
- This person will assist in implementing regulatory compliance standards and engineering design standards for both private development and public works projects.
- Asset Management & Planning Intern
- This person will assist with planning and managing public works projects related to flood control and storm water pollution prevention.
Desired qualifications are:
- Good communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- An interest in establishing a career in civil engineering
- Minimum 6 hours per week
