Our Team is currently aggressively designing the water treatment system and houses that we intend to install in Narasapuram and the CPPP ST Colony, respectively. We plan to have our designs complete and ready for implementation by the end of February 2016! But, before we can actually build these projects, we need your help! We need to raise more than $5000 so that we can travel to India and implement these projects effectively. We need to be on-site to make sure that everything is installed correctly and safely. So, come have a beer and consider donating to help bring clean water and permanent housing to over 500 people in rural India! Your tax-deductible donation will also be quadrupled by our fund-matching grant from the HDR Foundation! PLEASE SHARE THIS EVENT WITH ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS! The more people we reach, the more people we can help in India. The design process has started! So, please donate now to bring clean water and permanent housing to over 500 people in rural India!! Thank you so much for your support! Something amazing just happened: the HDR Foundation just accepted the India Team's grant proposal, funding all three of our Team's new projects in India! That's $60,000 of generous funding that will go straight towards equipment, labor and education to construct these projects and make them long-term, sustainable successes! What an amazing gift of clean water and permanent housing for over 500 people in rural India. Thank you to the HDR Foundation!
But, despite this amazing gift, we are still in dire need of your help! While this $60,000 grant will cover all of the expenses of construction and education, we still need over $20,000 to effectively engineer and oversee the implementation of these projects by traveling to India a few times over the next few years! Without your donation, we will not be able to use this $60,000 grant. Quadruple your donation by donating now! $50 turns into $200, $100 turns into $400, and $1000 turns into $4000! So, please donate now to bring clean water and permanent housing to over 500 people in rural India!! Thank you so much for your support! UPDATE: September 15, 2015
The India Team just returned from an assessment trip in India! We've successfully met two new communities: the Schedule Tribes (ST) Colony of Chakicherla Pedda Patapu Palem, and Nasarpuram. Both communities are in the Prakasam District of Andhra Pradesh, India. The India Team will be bringing clean water and permanent housing to the 250 people of the ST Colony and clean water to the 500 people of Nasarpuram. We are currently fundraising for more than $90,000 USD to make these projects a reality! Please consider donating or helping us to fundraise. We are always in need of dedicated individuals that are willing to devote their time and expertise; so, please consider joining our Team. This is a great time to join; you will be starting these new projects from scratch! Please email James Harper, the India Program Lead at india@ewb-sandiego.org if you are interested in helping us out! Also, watch a video recently created for the India Program by the Program Lead, James Harper, here! We are heading home from India. In the last few days of our trip, we established two community committees to manage the projects that we will be building within the ST Colony of CPPP and Nasarpuram; passed out many gifts to the children in our communities; helped inaugurate the improvements to a school that our India NGO, ASSIST, implemented recently; and had some heart-felt good-byes and hugs with our good Indian friends. We cannot wait to go back!
Our team and projects have been featured in multiple Indian newspapers! The communities, governments and media organizations are really taking an interest in our development projects here in India! Hopefully, it'll let us improve the lives of more people and get more funding.
Nasarpuram: a village of kind, hardworking and family-oriented people that are ravaged by skeletal fluorosis due to high fluoride concentrations in their groundwater supply. 50- and 60-year-old people should not be bed-bound, and teens should not be permanently deformed by the water that they drink and the food that they eat! The India Team will be working to solve this problem quickly upon our return; please consider donating if you have the means!
